Perth Private Schools introduces Nursery Road State Special School in Holland Park, for all your education and learning needs.
Nursery Road State Special School is a co-educational state school facility providing excellence in education in a friendly and supportive environment. Our school was opened as Mt Gravatt West Special School on the 28th July, 1986, to provide educational programs to students with disabilities, particularly students with multiple impairments.
Nursery Road State Special is the new name selected by the school community through a community consultation process conducted in 2009. Our school supports school-age students with high support needs, and very young children with developmental challenges. The student population is drawn from across the south side of Brisbane and maintains a consistent sized school population.
Nursery Road State Special School provides educational programs for students between 5 and 18 years who may have significant delays or impairments in the area of physical, sensory and/or intellectual functioning. In addition a number of our students are diagnosed with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Our specialisation in educational provision is to provide programs for children and young people with multiple disabilities or with a singe impairment diagnosis coupled with complex and challenging behaviour/health support needs.
Welcome to Nursery Road State Special School one of the popular educators in your Holland Park area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
